Diversity and Inclusion
- Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports – Programs and initiatives to support sport organizations working to address ethical issues in sport, including diversity and inclusion.
- Canadian Centre for Gender + Sexual Diversity – download their free Sports Inclusion booklet.
- Canadia Women and Sport – Access free publications, handbooks and tools/guidelines to promote gender equity in sports.
- Coaching Association of Canada – How to Support Diversity and Inclusion
- KidSport – A discussion series on diversity and inclusion in Sport, by KidSport Canada and the Calgary Flames Foundation.
Grants and Funding
- Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program – Individual child grants to help cover costs of accessing sports.
- Fun Team Alberta – Grant opportunties for sports organizations to help reduce fees for participants (2 installments of $250.00), as well as up to $100.00 individual grants for registration fees.
- KidSport Alberta – Provincial Fund – reduce financial barriers for kids to play by helping families with applying for grant funding through KidSport Canada. The KidSport Alberta Provincial Fund provides grants of up to $250.00 per elegible child, per year (January 1st to December 31st) towards sport registration fees.
- Metis Nation of Alberta Youth Sports Grant
- Sport Central – Helping kids access sporting equipment they need to participate in sports. Serving Edmonton, Central and Northern Alberta.

- Abuse Free Sport is Canada’s independent system for preventing and addressing maltreatment in sport. Our ultimate goal is to work with others throughout the Canadian sport system to ensure that every participant – no matter the sport, the level, or the role – has a safe, positive and enriching experience.
- Coaching Association of Canada – free module training on recognizing the signs of teen dating violence and gender-based violence in sports.
- Canadian Centre for Mental Health and Sport – The CCMHS is a registered charity supporting the mental health and performance of competitive and high-performance athletes coaches, performing artists, and support staff.
- I Got Mind – provides valuable educational programming that enhances wellness, strengthens cultures, and increases performance for any team or individual.
- Respect in Sport – educates youth leaders, coaches, officials and participants (14-years and up) to recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination (BAHD).
